Buzzing from roof. Need Help!

At around 2900 to 3400 rpm I get a buzzing sound from the roof. If I put slight pressure with my hand right in front of the dome light (not on the targa) it stops. What can I do to stop this noise?
Other than riding around with my hand on the roof, of course.
2000 NSX-T. Flowmaster muffler.

It's either one of the fasteners that hold the headliner wearing out, the clear plastic lens of the dome light vibrating or the dome light screws have loosened a bit.

If you press up on the headliner do you hear/feel a slight pop?

Sounds like muffler resonance. Some adjustment to the targa top might help.

Tried the mirror, no luck, dome light is tight, it does seem to be a resonance thing since it only happens at a very deep pitch.

How can I adjust the Targa to effect this condition?

I thought you said the buzzing stopped when you applied pressure to the roof but not the inner targa part. Is it in front of or behind the targa? I don't remember where the dome light is on those cars.

The dome light is about 3 or 4 inches behind the joint where the targa meets the fixed roof.
I'm hoping the buzzing is a result of the interaction of the targa and roof setting up a resonance vibration at a certain pitch and can be corrected by some sort of targa or seal adjustment, lubrication etc.
When i press very lightly on the roof about midway between the dome light and the joint for the targa it stops.
Is there an adjustment or anything to reduce vibation in this area that you know of?

I have the same problem on my 99. I took the dome light out, and tried putting pressure on different areas. I ended up putting some tape between the metal and "headliner" on all four sides of the dome light, and that seemed to help. However, I am not sure if it cured it or not.

It's not. It's due to the fasteners holding the headliner in place fatiguing. Replacing the fasteners or doing as the previous poster suggested and getting some double stick tape up in there will fix the problem. That foam in a can shit would probably work well too.

Had the same issue on mine. 3M makes a tape that is basically clear plastic and coated on 1 side with some Teflon lilke material. This is used by many dealers to fix dash and interior panel sqeuaks and rattles. It worked great for me. I never had the issue until I installed the aftermarket exhuast so Armando's post is somewhat relevant in my case.

I'd like to put some of that stuff in my underwear for these hot humid Florida summers. :)

I took out the dome light, pushed up on the surrounding area, and put the light back in.
The problem is gone for now, guess it was loose from all the low harmonic exhaust tones.
If it happens again I think I'll try the foam shit....on my car that is, not in Hugh's pants...oops, lost my lunch just thinking about it.
