Buying on Amazon

Anybody buy on Amazon.com.I'm buying a AVIC-F700BT and right now there $599.00 at future shop and $422.00 on amazon. I know on Amazon I will have to pay the exchange rate but what else do I have to add. Is there going to be taxes and if there is I'm assuming it will be the same rates as the province I'm in.Will there be duty and if so how much will it be.

There will definitely be taxes on the item, GST and PST (if applicable). There might be duty since its made in Japan or China. Duty is 6.1%.

It really depends on how they ship the item and how the sender declares it..

Best case scenario is

$422 USD + conversion rate + shipping ?? sent via air or USPS. There will be no brokerage fees and maybe duty + taxes. You are looking at $500 CND or so..


Worse case scenario
$422 USD + conversion rate + shipping ?? sent UPS, Fedex, or DHL ground

so brokerage fees, duty, and taxes, You will be looking $550+ CND

worse case scenario will quickly eat up the future shop price.


For $599+tax CND.. I would buy it at FS to get the item now and have the convience of warranty issues that may arise.

Never thought about the warranty. As far as getting it right away at futur shop I won't cause there out of stock but I did get a rain check.

Like you said best case I will save a few bucks and worst case I cane lose a few more so I decided to play safe and bought local.Thank for your advise
