Buying an used NSX.

Hi, my cousin recently lost his car in accident, and I convinced him enough to get a used nsx. Question is would it be a good idea to buy one with a bad engine and then buy and swap one rebuilt or better condition engine / with either nsxR gear or 6 speed Transmission?

I guess what we need to find out is the price we need to pay. I mean you guys must have a ball park of such modification going to cost.

Or, he might be just better off forking out 35k for an good conditioned used NSX.
