clutch

Mac, I just edited my post. I had put in break in tips but reread the post. have you been driving it hard? how strong is the smell.I would take it in and have your master tech at acura drive it. I would not speculate as to what is wrong until you take it in . its one of those things that for me someone in the know needs to drive the car to get a feel for what is going on. I would also refrain from driving it until it is checked out as it is a costly repair/replace
good luck
best regards david
ps it could be something simple so dont get paranoid just get her checked.

What were the circumstances in which you smelled it? Is it possible you were slipping the clutch? For example, if you were pulling into a garage (particularly with an uphill slope), or something else at very slow speed where you needed to get the car moving very slowly, it's quite possible that the clutch was slipping during that kind of maneuver - in which case it's easy to slip the clutch, and you would smell it. If so, I wouldn't worry about it. It's not good for the clutch, but it's caused by driving technique for that particular maneuver, and hopefully you don't have to do that often.

If you're smelling it at normal driving speeds, then you should definitely get it checked out.

Thanks guys, the reason for the alarm was that nsx was the only vehicle that I've experienced the odor with.

I didn't know if my "X" was the only vehicle out there with the odor after slipping the clutch to get it into my garage.

Thanks
