Burning mp3 CD's for the Alpine mp3 changer

Does anyone know from experience:

1. Can the CD be open session so you can go back and add songs to it later?

2. Can it use 80 minute CD's

3. Is there a maximum number of songs it will recognize?

The reason I ask is because I have a first-generation portible mp3 player that cannot use open session disks, and does not recognize anything about 650MB, or 140 files. Before I burn new disks, i wonder if the Alpine changer has similar limits.

Thanks

I don't know the answer to no. 1, but for no. 2, yes, you can use 80 minute CDs. I don't know about maximum number of songs but I have put over 170 on a single disk (well over 650MB).

Thanks alot for the info. I'll try the open session disk tonight.

btw.. anyone want to pay me $1400 for my 4 month old Acura changer? Is that laughter I hear? hmmmmm.... thats what I paid Acura for it. At least I get the factory bracket.

omg mike, sorry to hear how badly acura screwed you. that changer when it first came out, brand new from alpine was only around $600 in 1990. Obviously since then, prices have about halved on the current Alpine 6 disc models.

As far as number of tracks, I'm around 240 on one of my CD's with no problems (its just hard to remember sometime looking at my head unit and seeing 12 if I'm listening to track 12, track 111 or track 210).

The fast forward and reverse buttons don't appear to work correctly with mp3s. They work fine with audio CD's. The next track, previous track buttons work fine with either. Is this correct operation?

Max number of songs and folders is 255.

The fast forward and all the other buttons should work the same on MP3's as they do on audio cd's.

i got a great deal on the car, but got burned on the two options.. the keyless entry, and CD player. All in all, I didn't make out bad.
