H,

I am trying to replace the door handle piece that was broken, but I can't figure out how to take off the cylindrical looking holder that is keeping the borken piece in place. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Broken piece.

I see the horseshoe piece you're talking about, tried turning it a few times, doesn't looks like I moved it at all. How do you take the horse shoe piece out? Do you pull it out with needle nose plier? Or does it twist off?

thanks

It will not twist off. You can try getting pliers in there, but for me, the easiest way was to push the ring off. I used two small screwdrivers, each placed at each end of the ring, applied a little pressure on the screwdrivers to pop the ring off. (See the picture below.) As AndyH mentioned, the ring will pop off, so you might want to place some tape or something on the opposite side to catch it.

When you put it back together, grab the ring with needle-nose pliers and push it back into the groove.

Good luck.

Another thing to try would be to insert your screwdriver blades in the open areas between the left & center and right & center lugs and the shaft, then leverage the blade to open the clip and force it off. You might be able to do it with just one blade
