Brakelamp Failure Light On but Bulbs are Fine

I'm a new NSX owner (1991). Having just bought the car, I've gone through some of the little things wrong, but this one stumps me. The Brakelamp Out indicator on the dash is illuminated whenever the key is on, even though all of the brake/tail lamps are working properly. Any help would be appreciated.

Common NSX problem. Mine's been on since I got the car and is only really noticable at night, but all my brake lights work fine...I think. I've heard if you use non-OEM bulbs it will light up. Here are a couple other threads about this. Good luck.
