Okay, I have slotted rotors and better pads but I was looking into upgrading to a better brake setup. I am not sure if I can fit a stoptech kit in my current wheel setup. I would like to hear some options of what people have done. I have 17" wheels up front that are about 7.5" or 8" wide. I would love to go with a stoptech kit in front but want to hear some options. I will have about 400whp and 300wtq by the end of summer. I need to slow that car down....at the track too.

Since we all have different opinions I'll start:wink: My personal solution was comptechs old 12.4 brembo only front which works for lots of wheels because it was designed for the oem 16's.They don't sell this anymore. So for you in order of likely probability of fitting under your wheels.1) two piece rotor, such as racing brake..ect.., with your oem calipers good pads/track fluid/brake ducts/lines.2) the brembo lotus calipers+rotors up front only with the same additions as in 1. 3)AP caliper/rotors front only again with all the other stuff. 4) lastly the stoptechs because they need lots of wheel clearance.

I have the Racing Brake +2 kit, which is 13" slotted rotors front & rear using the stock calipers. I have Project Mu pads and it seems to brake significantly better than stock. I haven't gone on the track with it yet. . still pretty new.

AP Racing makes extremely well balanced (both mechanically and thermally) front and rear brake systems for the these cars. Wheel fitment is always an issue. Check the templates at:

I don't see one posted for the rear, but they do have one. However, I believe the fronts are the critical fitment.

Follow the instructions here to see if the Stop Techs will fit with your current wheels.

I have 17x8 HRE 545s up front and they fit with about 2mm clearance. My offset is 39mm.

Don't forget that you'll be significantly changing the brake bias by just upgrading just the fronts. The factory bias is around 61.6% f/r for the '91-'96 or 54% f/r for the '97+ cars.

If you just have a Stoptech front and are using the factory '94 rears, your brake bias would be on the order of 77.36% f/r

I'd only recommend this if you really know what you're doing. .. Otherwise go Stoptech for both Front AND rear, or the Racing Brake Front & rear upgrade to keep the bias to factory.

This table from Daliracing helped me decide which brake upgrade kit to go:

I am running Brembo GT on the front and OEM 97+ on the rear and I track the car A LOT! The bias isn't a huge problem and stopping distance isn't a huge deal doing HPDEs, but fade is. I can tell you that with this combo (currently PFC01 front & Carbotech XP10 rear - thanks Billy & Ryan) fade is not a problem. This weekend I ran Autobahn CC full course for an hour straight at 90F ambient with no fade what so ever and I can still brake with the best of them.

Yes, in theory I would prefer Brembos all the way around and a prop valve but in actuality I am extremely pleased with the front only setup with good pads and fluid. Will I add the rears? Maybe when Grandma dies and I'm not so broke.
