brake upgrade suggestion/recommendation

The more I look at my new wheels, the smaller my brakes look. So I'm going to upgrade them. The motivating factor is admittedly cosmetic, but since I'm going to be buying something, it might as well be an upgrade, right?

My main questions are:

-Is there a 4-wheel upgrade out there that will upgrade the discs only? I know there are manufacturers of discs for the NSX, but I couldn't find any sold as a "kit" that include the required caliper relocation brackets.

-Should I just make a bigger investment and get a complete brake upgrade kit that includes new calipers too? I've got some folks who can get me nice discounts on Comptech parts, so price isn't (as much of) a concern (as it could be for CT parts).

-Should I go mid-line and get something along the lines of SoS's AP KVR kit? My only concern with this option is that it's more than half-way towards what I can get the CT kit for and it hasn't received nearly as many kudos as the CT kit based on my search of Prime.

-Is there another option I'm overlooking?

I know this question is coming, so I'll do my best to answer it:

Q: What is the goal? What is the "purpose" for your car?
A: It's 99% street car that will start seeing the track a couple of times a year (Infineon and other local tracks, probably as far as Willow Springs). I want the brakes to add to the visual appeal of the car with the secondary yet almost as important goal of improving braking capability. I know that any brake upgrade I buy will be overkill for my skill level (the stock brakes are already overkill for my skill level  ) but I just can't stand the look of the wee, tiny little brakes inside my rims

James .................. if money is no object and you somehow have managed to get better discounts from CT LOL! go with Comptech.

Otherwise, Tarox would fit your bill. Check with Don Tempelton, he is importing them. I believe Igor (like007) runs on them at the track as well.

yes, I'm quite sure it's the brakes (too)

Hey James,

Bang for the buck Stoptech BBK, just look around for good pricing, even if you go with the Comptech Pro BBK Kit(Indy Calipers) you will have the same problems finding wheels that would properly clear the caliper. You know how much of a track junkie I used to be

BTW: The stock wheels fit over the Tarox BBK so they will look tiny too with aftermarket wheels.

Just my 2 cents.

Ken you are right, but if I am not mistaken, they are larger rotors than the OEM; I believe they are like the 12.4" like Comptech's that fit under the 16" wheels. http://www.comptechusa.com/store/420100.html

James, you are better off listening to what Ken says as he was indeed a trunk junkie ..... we are trying to lure him back but he is focusing on some harmonic conversion

Something like this would be nice, larger rotor that work with stock caliper and come with relocating brackets:

Unfortunately they do not have it available for NSX yet.
