Saw this in the latest issue of GRM and thought a few of us may be interested in it. I've got something similar, though much less robust, and it works very well. I think my tool was purchased from O'Reilly's for around $10.

Brake Tool

This version in particular looks like it's much more heavy duty and judging by the threads would really push back the pistons quickly. Maybe it could be "mod'd" with four tabs to help w/ our rear brakes?

It takes me about a half hour now, from wheels take off to finishing putting the calipers back on, to replace pads on all four corners. Think BAR Honda would hire me? - they need the help.

I use a C-clamp & 1 old pad. Cost me a whole $4.95

I've got the factory tool for the rear too. This looks like it could be a little easier - if it had four tabs like factory tool.

Hey, you could make something similar out of wood too! And I bet it'd be cheaper!!!!!

I don't know, but I wish you would start going to the same tracks as I am on the same dates. I could use a servan... I mean, a helper.

I use the bottom of a metal file (no serations of course) to turn the rear brake calipers. BTW - like what has been said before - C clamp works just fine.

Want something that really works awesome - pick up a set of speedbleeders for the clutch and all four brakes. Big time saver at the track and at home.

Search the FAQ's for more info.
