Brake question for the engineers

I have a set of the large Tarox brakes on my '91 (w/CTSC, einb, i/h/e, etc) and they are phenomenal in stopping power. But, they are so good the ABS seems to cut in sooner than with regular brakes. So, the question is, is there a point beyond which larger brakes won't help stop the car any faster? I'm running TS-1's 17/18 as large as possible (235/275). I'm more interested in the theoretical limits.

When your brakes can (easily) overcome the grip from your tires, nothing more in stopping power is gained by bigger brakes. However, stopping power is not the only issue - heat dissipation is just as great an issue for track junkies. Bigger rotors give better heat dissipation.

I have stock rotors and calipers with carbotech panther plus pads and ATE Super Blue fluid on my '92 NSX. Pretty much stock except for the pads. My brakes have no problem locking up the wheels if I brake heavily. In other words, even the stock '92 brake setup is capable of stopping the car very quickly. The PROBLEM is that if I brake heavily too often within a short time interval (i.e. if I am on a track that is hard on brakes...lots of deep braking zones), my brakes will fade long before a Brembo or Tarox big brake system will.

Another reason people like big brakes is aesthetic : big brakes fill out the large area inside big wheels better.
