Brake Pedal Mush - Possible bleeder screw leak

Hey all,

So i just recently installed a used WP Pro BBK on my car as well as a SoS ABS upgrade kit since my abs pump was bad, so i ran all new lines, as well as a new master cylinder. However, my pedal seems to not engage until very far down the first push when driving and i have to let it up and pump again to get any good pressure and breakage. I bench bled my new master in the center port as well as cycling the front and rear ports back into the reservoir and pumped the cylinder multiple times. I also two person bled the brakes 3 times and have absolutely no bubbles. I also adjusted the rod and pedal length down a little which helped slightly but not too much. I've only drove the car a little bit on the road, but today i noticed what looked like fluid on my right rear caliper outboard bleeder screw around the threads and also on the top of the caliper. If it is indeed leaking, could this be my issue, if so, how do i fix it and if not what else could be my problem? I did read somewhere that a guy had a soft pedal and had a bad proportioning valve?

What i changed:
-stock brakes to Wppro 6 pot
-stainless lines
-new MC
-02+ ABS upgrade
-bench bled MC, and bled brakes the old fashioned way with 4 qts of Motul 600.

This is my first BBK and i've never really had any brake problems on any of my cars so thanks in advance.

Stock rear calipers? Seals on the bleeder screws are old and might be issue. I tried looking for some the other day and sadly couldn't find them at the auto parts store. Might have to order. I believe Russell makes some. M8x1.25 and 29 or 38mm length if I recall.

If you've had this issue since upgrading the ABS, I'd recommend exercising the ABS and re-bleeding the system (once or twice). It's possible you could have some air bubbles in the new solenoid. I suffered from a spongy pedal after my ABS was upgraded and this did the trick.

Ahh, that thought crossed my mind, but no i haven't stomped the pedal since it's been mushy haha. So simply just going out, doing some hard stops from 60mph+ then rebleeding?

Have you read posts from @TURBO2GO on Facebook. Epic failure on the WPPro BBK kit. Just be aware.. Brakes save lives.

I have not, could you link it or PM it to me? i read of one guys issues with the ebrake and bleeder screws leaking, which is why i checked mine out. My ebrake works fantastic though haha

Or find some gravel and go much slower. Either way, let us know the results!

I must be the last person on earth that don't have Facebook! Is he and his NSX alright? really crossing my fingers that the answer is yes...

I am OK, thank you. It could have been bad. Continous issues. too much to list. I have given up and am trying to get some sort of refund.

+1. My brakes felt mushy after replacing the master cylinder on my car. Despite there being no visible bubbles after bleeding several times, I kept on bleeding over and over. After performing about a dozen bleed cycles and going thru many quarts of brake fluid, the mushy feeling vanished.

damn dude glad everything is ok! What happened if you don't mind posting?

Bled some more and put some thread sealant on the bleeder screw, so far doesn't look like any leaks. Could this be a bad proportioning valve? Can't think of anything else?
