Brake light in rear spoiler on '91

I have recently bought a 91 NSX from Switzerland. As I am living far north of the arctic circle, the car is tucked in for the winter-season in my garage.
There are a few minor repairs to be done through the winter; left door amplifier, new struts for the trunk etc.
I noticed that there are no lights in my rear spoiler, just some red "plastic" which is mounted with screws in the slot. Should there be "high-mounted" brake lights or is this a later modification on NSX?
Is the necessary wiring installed for "plug&play" if I want to put in lights instead?

Swiss cars came without the LED light since a couple years ago. 1997 maybe? Enzo knows more for sure.

I had to buy mine from California, 350$ shipped. I found it on the marketplace here on NSXPrime.

Where did you buy your car from Switzerland? A dealer?

Thanks for info.
Yes, I bought it from a Honda-dealer outside of Zurich. I found it on internet just a few hours after he advertised the car on autoscout.ch.
I drove the car myself to Oslo in early november and due to icy roads I shipped it by train to Harstad (which is located far north, re my nick)
In september/october there were appx. 5-6 Swiss NSXs for sale, pricerange 44-48000 CHF. These cars had less km. than i.e. german or belgium cars + I believe (due to Swiss speed limits) they are generally in a better condition.
