The SM says using silicon grease. Well, the overhaul package offers 4 different types of grease (see pic).

Two of them are clear
- orange is for the pins
- red is for piston and boot as it says

but what are the white (40M) and clear (62M) one for?

Thanks in advance!

BTW: Could anybody get my the part no. of the caliper boot kit (overhaul) for a 97+ caliper for the front? I don't have access to the parts catalog from Europe. :)

IIRC, the clear is to lube and protect the rubber boots.

Must be from the outside then. The white could be for the needle bearing, right? Thanks!

@Chris: Thanks very much. We can access it from Europe.

EDIT: Just found out with a friend that the white one is for the threads of the handbrake which go into the piston.

use the clear stuff very sparringly and retain the leftover portion to use on your weatherstripping.
