Any of you locals have any experience with a dead head unit?

After the battery went low (lack of use) the head unit acted strangely, then would come on only intermittently, now won't come on at all.

Thoughts, or suggestions on where to get it repaired or replaced welcome. Also would welcome if any of you have a working head unit one laying around that you might want to clear some garage space for.

Here in Orlando is a great Bose service shop called Factory Car Stereo Repair. They've fixed several parts of my system and always stand behind their work. They've been around for years and are very reasonable. Talk to Bob, the owner.

Thanks, I've sent them an e-mail and tomorrow I will try to contact Bob as you recommend.

Thanks for the info.

Give Dwight a call 954 583 2424 @ Hondatech.....I know he doesn't do it but I'm sure he knows someone local that does. Years back I had a problem with my Legend and he got me someone local to fix it. If you tell Dwight what it was doing before it pooped out on you he may have some suggestions.

Thanks, Danny. I had the car at Dwight's last week to fix the A/C and he just recommended I call Bose.

Why would anyone want that POS in their car except to keep it 100% factory? It's not worth fixing. Just wait until the inevitable one comes up for sale on Prime for $50.00.

Easy answer: It's easy and I'm lazy.

Thanks Dubai Rich for the offer on your discarded unit.

BTW, Factory Stereo sent it back to me saying parts and support no longer available, so it's not serviceable.

If the replacement from Rich dies, then it might be time to upgrade. But for a car I don't use much, an OEM unit works fine.
