Boring the throttle body

wow good deal. sure beats some of the prices, wait time and core exchange we got going on currently.

there is the issue of down time tho!

yeah but read the part about shipping. It's confusing how they write it as it can be translated a few different ways.

"Throttle bodies are sent back via USPS Priority insured for $100 at no additional cost."

Sounds to me like it's either
a) Shipping is $100 w/ insurance at no additional cost
b) Insurance is set at $100 value w/ no additional cost for insurance but still charged for shipping.
c) Insurance is set at $100 value w/ free shipping

Shipping is included in the price with a $100 insurance. Even if there's add. shipping cost, it would only be $30 max with insurance.

Turn around time is 4 days, it's not my daily driver so even if he take a wk I'm ok with it.
Curious to know if anyone has used him to do their NSX TB.

problem with current bored out throttle body providers is that it takes month on month for them to get a core back.

i had customer that has been waiting for 2-3 month to get their hands on one.

I am working on a New TB for the NSX see below is the TBW. There are several sizes available. the one in the photo is 76MM the Stock NSX is about 63MM and a bore will get you about 65MM. These are currently available for the Cable driven NSX now and are about 300.00. The bigger gain is to not just bore your Intake but cut off the first few inches and weld a section of aluminum round tube in its place.

I have read several threads concluding that you dont need a bored out TB on a Normally Aspirated car...only on Forced Induction systems. The $ per HP gained isn't worth it IMHO. You'll gain just as much by cleaning your exsisting one.

To straighten out the run?

Follow Ken's advise, or get an SOS if you really want one...

Thats true but, most of the guys that get the TB done usually don't get the intake manifold port matched to the bigger TB, thus not really getting the full effect of the bigger TB. But it's true that the $ per HP gain isn't worth it on NA cars. Since this guy was only charging $100 for it, I think it was worth it since I have I/H/E/ cayt delete. I want to get the ROM ecu done and I though the TB and mani porting would have helped.
Oh well back to the drawing board.
