Funny, Well I got a boot kit, now I need to know the steps to take to take the rear cv off to regrease and replace band. I'm not replacing just regreasing!
The service manual on line has the procedure on page 16-6 to replace the boot and regrease. DO NOT separate the ball joint to remove the shaft from the car. Take the two lower control arm bolts off (mark the camber adjustment), then pop the inner CV join tout of the trans or the imtermediate driveshaft depending on which side. It is typically the right inner that leaks. If it is the right inner, you can avoid draining the trans, if it is the left plan on a trans oil change too. You wil need a KD#3191 or equivelant to install the new band once you get the new bott on and it is all reassembled.
Remove the large nut, WITH THE CAR ON THE GROUND first, unles you have a nice big impact gun/socket (36mm).
