Does anyone have a recommendation on a excellent body shop in the Orange County or LA area? Have a small dent requiring paint work in right rear plus rear bumper painting and I don't want to take a chance with someone who does not know how to work with aluminum.

Welcome.

It's not in O.C. but it might be worth your drive. There's one in San Pedro (I don't know the exact name. Maybe someone can chime in or you can look in the FAQ's) and there's a guy there who owns/used to own an NSX himself. He does work for the Honda Company and knows how to work with aluminums on the NSX.

It's tough to remember, I know. It's San Pedro Auto Body.

Thanks from me, too. Just got my 2001 red NSX a few weeks ago, but will keep the name/phone number of the body shop just in case! I hope I never need it. I'm dreading the near-inevitability of the first little scratch. I'll mourn for a week. It has been great to enjoy the car in perfect condition.

I don't like to make recommendatinos, there is always someone with an opposite opinion. But I can share my experience of this body shop I used in Irvine, which is close to where you live also.

Spectrum Collision

Irvine

GM: Ed Cobett
Phone number: 949-597-8200

They do mostly BMWs, MBs and Porsches.

Well long story short, my experience with them is that their paint matching is superb. My 12 year old sebring silver was done right. Paint texture is very good. Ever lightly more orange peel. Clear coat application is excellent. No over spray and rough edges.

Customer service is very good. They are very patient with my constant "feedback". Panel alignment was excellent after a few adjustments during the repair process.

It took longer than expected. At least the car was indoor almost the entire time.

The cool thing is that Terry the paint guy bought an NSX a month or 2 after he did my car. Very nice guy!

Wherever you end up going, good luck on your repair!

Chris
