Body kit removal?

Hey guys,

I'm looking at picking up another NSX in the next few days, and the one I found happens to have a Wings West body kit on it. I'm not a fan of body kits myself, and was wondering how hard it would be to remove. Are the side skirts and front airdam 'glued' on? It doesn't damage the body/paint when its installed does it? I believe the body kit has only been on the car for a year or so... Thanks!

The WW kit is primarily fixed with 3M double sided tape and some secondary screws, which should be fairly obvious to find. That tape is extremely tough so don't underestimate it! It really depends who installed it as a professional shop may have also used some additional methods.
When you remove the skirts, there is nothing really that will be noticable after you remove them. I put a knife down through between the skirt & the door sill to cut through the tape, then removed the residue with a paint scraper after softening up with solvent.
On the front, I'm not so sure that when you remove it the paint will be OK. Typically the glue on the tape will not pull paint with it however it might be tough to get it completely clean without the paint finish being affected in some way.
I suggest you contact WW directly & ask for their recommended solvent to remove the parts.
