so, here we go - another weird question from me....

i have noticed for a little while now that my car's antifreeze goes low over time. i am planning on changing the milk bottle and cap soon, but get this-

i was topping it off last night, and a few seconds after i started filling it, i hear a big splash, like somebody dropped a bucket of water. i look under the car, and there is coolant everywhere. so, i finally clean it off everything (mostly the front cross beam, starter, and shift cable cover. i wasn't sure if i just started pouring too much too fast, and maybe some flew out of the funnel?? but there was no water on the top there.... i couldn't locate where it was coming from.

in any case, i went to go finish filling it up.... didi t slower this time. same thing happened.... wtf is it?? the milk jug didn't lose anything.... it's at the max level now..... where is this coolant coming from??

I would think it was coming out of the overflow hose. You could also check the hose that connects to the bottom of the tank.

have somebody pour the coolant in there as you watch from below.

I'm sure you all know this, but just in case someone doesn't, coolant is a deadly poison to animals. So, don't leave any open jugs or puddles aroundif any dogs or cats are around.

yeah, you def don't want to get animals all up in your rad fluid..... bad stuff

in any case..... this thing stumps me everytime i look at it. it did the whole splashy thing twice, but it's topped off now and holding fluid just fine. whatever.... guess i'm just going to have to replace a few things when i get a chance

thanks for the input

Not sure if rats like coolant....but as far as your leakage goes you need to get the system pressure tested...your symptom sounds very unusual.
