Blitz Technospeed Z2's 17/18...

I think there the best looking rims I've seen on an NSX. I like them the best because I think it doesn't make the car look to ricy and keeps it sleek & simple.

Here's an example of the rims:

PS if anyone knows where I can get some of these. would be helpfull.

Cheers,
Derek

The looks are a matter of personal taste. I don't particularly like the looks of three piece wheels. And the bolts around the edge require extra effort to keep them looking clean. Just my O.

Hi Roygee,

The car pictured is my car, I went with the Blitz Z2's because there are very few NSX's if any with these wheels. I've seen a few Supras on web sites(USA) with the wheels but I was told by Blitz that I had the first pair of these wheels ever shipped to Canada.

My choices were HRE's or the Blitz Wheels. If you go with either these you'll be very happy. I've only received positive comments since I've put the wheels on.

Here's a link to some more pics.

Sweet Deal man, ya I think they look real sharp on the NSX. few q's. Did you get the wheels direct from Blitz? One company told me I'll have to wait 3-4 weeks for them. Also what type/size tread you got on them & have you noticed any performance flaws while driving with those wheels on.

Look forward to hearing from you bro,

DEREK

I've got 17x8 215/40/17 up front & 18x10 275/35/18 on the back with Dunlop SP 9000's. When these wear out I'll switch the fronts to 225/35/17 I think it'll fill the wheel well better. I haven't noticed any performance related problems since I installed the wheels obviously they are heavier than stock but thats the sacrifice you make to look good.

Interesting choice, since both sizes have a smaller outer diameter than stock. Most folks are using 215/40-17 in front and either 255/35-18 or 265/35-18 in the rear.

I'm not so sure about the 225s in the front. Most tires that wide tend to rub on the fender wells, which is why most folks don't go wider than 215.

However, you've got yourself in a bind, since the TCS will cause problems with new 215/40-17 front tires and worn 275/30-19 in the rear.

If I were you, I would replace all four tires at once and go to the more common 215 and 255/265 tires...

Sorry about that I just went out and checked my tires. The sizes are

F 215/40/17
R 275/35/18

With the 275's I don't have any problems with the TCS. I've had the car out when the roads were wet and the TCS worked great.

I believe alot of NSXer's with 17/18 combo have these tire sizes as well.

Always wondered about the wierd front tire size. I've never heard of any tire company with the 215/35/17 size tire before. Thanks for clarifying. I thought you wanted to upgrade your front wheel size to 18". Any reason why you decided against it? TCS?

May I also ask who you purchased the wheels/tires from and how much you paid? TIA.

With the 40-profile front tires, yes the TCS should work. However, while the TCS should work with all three rear widths - 255, 265, and 275 - the 255 is the least dramatic departure in width from the stock rear size. That's why lots more people are using the 255 or the 265 than the 275.

I decided not to go with the 18's due to TCS problems and Blitz doesn't offer a different offset for the front. So the wheel will look the same but bigger. Also why spend another 2 grand.

I purchased my wheels from JRP Inc in Mississauga, Ontario and paid approx 3900.00USD. You can contact www.blitz-na.com and they can provide you with a distributor in your area. ACR motorsports is also very reasonable.
