I was out giving the beast a hard time the other night when i smelt this funny smell.
I'd never smelt anything like that and it got my attention.
I checked all my gauges and then i noticed the temp gauge climbing.
I looked out my rear window and it was like i'd blown a turbo.
Masses of white smoke coming out the rear of the car.
So i pulled over and poped the hatch and saw a 2 inch split in my main coolant hose connecting to the engine and the coolant was everywhere.
Luckily i was only 5 mins from home so i rolled it down hills and fired it up for very short bursts to get up hills.
the engine is fine and i caught it before temps got to high. The whole event didnt worry me due to my new sc/engine is being installed next month but why couldnt it just hang on for one more month?
I would recommend changing to venair silicone hoses which i will be fitting soon.
