Bleeding Coolant system?

Well, I was working on another special project(write up coming tonight ;) ) and i had to undo some coolant hose. I lost minimal amount of coolant but nevertheless, I figured it got some air. Anyway, I left the coolant bottle cap open while I started the car and saw little bubbles coming up. I also tried bleeding from the water pipe bleeding point after 5-6 min of idling but I did not see any bubbles. I tried this again after the car came up to normal operating temp...still no bubbles. The coolant bottle was still bubbling but very minimal at that point.

So after that, I drove the car around pretty hard for 10-15 min and I did not see the temperature go higher than normal.

So here are some questions to NSX gurus.

1. Would car overheat right a way if there are bubbles in the coolant system?
2. Should I still bleed the system at all 4 bleeding points?
3. If so, how many times should I try to bleed?

thanks in advance

If your temp is stable you are probably OK.

To answer your questions:

1. If air is trapped, coolant may not curculate properly and it will overheat.

2. Based on your steady water temp I would say no.

3. Once would do it, if required

I would do a search to find the procedure here:)< if you need to bleed it.

If there was any air to get out it was more than likelly in the engine. The bleeder you needed to open is the one on the top of the themostat housing. The bleeder on the pipe just lets the out the air that collects at the top of that pipe because after it goes over the fuel tank the hoses go down a little to the engine.

After bleeding my cooling system after a complete drain I noticed bubles in the overflow tank for about the first 10 min of running. After some driving, the next day the reserve tank was about a quart low, which is normal. Bleeding gets most of the air but not all.

Thanks Larry/Brian for the response. I did bleed from the water pipe bleed location Brian is talking about but saw no bubbles. I think I"m ok but I"ll keep my eyes open for a while.
