I am moving this question to a new thread to avoid hijacking another thread.
Someone asked if there was a way to connect a Blackberry Pearl to the oem NSX (Bose) car stereo system. It is relatively easy to connect a Crackberry* to the NSX Bose system. Have a look at this excellent Gromaudio installation. Simply replace the Grom Ipod Adapter with the Grom Auxiliary Adapter, or you could replace the Grom Ipod Adapter with the USA-Spec DF-HON in order to be able to connect the Blackberry. You can locate the adapter in the interior compartment, or in the trunk, as long as you get a sufficient length of 3.5mm cable to reach back to the center console. Components required will be...
1. Grom Auxiliary Adapter (This adapter comes with two of the three necessary cables.)
2. 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter cable
*If you choose the Grom Auxiliary Adapter, be sure NOT to order the MBUS cable, and instead specify the 8-pin CD-Changer Cable.
OR
1. USA-Spec DF-HON (This adapter has two outputs; additional cables need to be purchased.)
2. 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter cable
3. 3.5mm to RCA splitter
4. 3.5mm extension cable
Purchase two of each cable above to connect to both outputs of the DF-HON. This will give you a crackberry cable plus a second cable to attach a second device.
Install the DF-HON underneath the panel that runs crossways below the rear window inside the car, in the dash somewhere, or in the trunk. Plug the DF-HON into the CD-changer connector which is located underneath this same panel, or into the back of the oem head unit, or into the cable which goes to the CD-changer in the trunk. Connect the RCA end of the splitter to one of the two inputs on the DF-HON. Connect the 3.5mm extension to the other end of the splitter and route that back alongside or inside the center console. (If you want to run the cable inside your center console, you will have to drill a small hole to route the cable. The center console is easy to remove, and you can drill the hole in an inconspicuous spot where it won't show when you reinstall the center console.) Connect the long extension to the 3.5mm to 2.5mm adaptercable. Plug the 3.5mm to 2.5mm adapter calbe into the headset output of the Crackberry. Remove the CD changer from the trunk and get rid of it, or just leave it in the trunk for if and when you ever decide to reverse the installation.
You can't control the Blackberry from the oem head unit, and the DF-HON won't charge the Blackberry, but you will get great sound from your Blackberry through the oem car stereo, all for less than $100.
Connect a second device to this installation and you can listen to, and easily switch back and forth between, two electronic sound devices (mp3 player/cell phone/whatever) using your oem car stereo.
*This same setup will work with any cell phone, iPod, mp3 player, or other electronic device that has a 2.5mm or 3.5mm headphone jack. To repeat for emphasis, you can connect virtually any device to your oem NSX car stereo using this installation.
