1. Can't find any info on replacing climate control buttons. I have a small scratch on one of the buttons. They don't seem to be available for purchase from dealers. Repaint?

2. The writing on my door mirror switch has slightly rubbed off on my 1994. Do you guys cover worn writing with stickers?

3. How do I remove the vents out of door panel switch so I can paint that panel?

For number 3 you need to remove the door.

-Remove triangle cover things up by the window being careful not to wiggle to much back and forth but pull straight out

-Locate and remove all screws around door panel, they're behind the door weather stripping I think

-Take out door card insert by door handle. This is tricky but I've used 2x small plastic putty knives wrapped in paper towels before and other devices to pry it off. You just need to get the front one out that's by the door handle itself.

-Once that's out it will expose screws that will hold the door handle assembly in place. Take a picture and take note which screws go where, the grey/black ones go in some holes, and the GOLD ones go in others. One is fine in the other, while the other one isn't and won't screw down correctly so take a picture.

- Unlatch cable and take out door handle assembly

- Grasp door panel securely and pull up and away from the door slightly "like up and toward where you'll probably be sitting which is on the side bolster or skirt of the car...

- There's wires and light bulb wires to unplug so be careful, along with the trunk pop on the drivers side. So make sure to put a towel or something underneath where you can rest the panel for a second, your leg works too

-Put a towel down and put door panel on it. If you're leaning the panel against the wall I recommend you put it upside down, that way you're not putting all the weight on those tabs on the bottom.

- But unscrew the screws holding the door switch bezels to the door

- Unscrew the screws holding on the switches with the worn out lettering

- The switch panel should come out. Now the vents were tricky for me and you need to take your time. Get some flat head screw drivers, the eye glass ones work great and you'll need to sandwich the tabs inward so the vent releases. Be careful and take your time on this part. It took me a good 30min-1 hour to get one off because I didn't want to break it.

Forgot to say I had door switches removed already but thanks for details on the vents.

I have the same issue on my CCU- rebuilt by briank and works great, but buttons and knobs badly scratched up. I've searched for years and the only option seems to be new from Honda ($$$$$) or used on ebay and it is still very expensive ($500+). Considering this place as a last resort:

They do a lot of the Ferrari interiors, which are known to deteriorate like our CCU and Radio controls.

Honcho, what did you pay to get that piece refinished? They sound pretty costly but of course, still cheaper than a factory replacement. I have a paint match center console that matches the SOS silver shift knob that I might like to respray and wonder what that would cost me. Thanks, I'm going to give them a call.

Lamchop- I still haven't pulled the trigger. I was holding out hope that I could find a inexpensive face plate from a wrecker, but looks like I might have to go this route since someone keeps buying up the wreck CCU's and flipping them on ebay for $500+.. If you read their instructions, you have to remove all electronics from the pieces before sending in and I have no idea how to remove the CCU faceplate knobs, buttons and circuit board.
