Bilstein problem??

I'm in the middle of changing my shocks and springs out and got the rears out. Aside from stripping the allen wrench key and having to cut the center bolt off it's gone smooth.

I have a problem though, I put everything back on the way I think the directions say, but it's in German, and only gives some diagram. I seem to be missing a part, I think it's part 6 on the instructions and it's called the "teller".

I only ask this because I installed the springs and everything else in the shock, and when I pick it up and tilt it forward and backwards, there's a washer that moves around inside that clanks back and forth, the washer is part 12 if you have the instructions in front of you...

Does this just compress when it gets put back in or am I really missing something?

Well I stuck the rears back in there anyways. I used everything from the old shocks so hopefully I should be fine. The thing that's making the noise is a metal washer inside the blue boot that came with the Bilsteins, if that clears up some questions...

The washer shouldn't be rattling, as it should be under compression once you torque the nut down. This is the stack-up according to my notes and pics:
Top to bottom:

Nut
Washer
Rubber spacer
Metal upper spring mount (with 3 threaded studs)
Rubber spacer (same as 1st one)
Metal bushing
Rubber spring hat
Spring
Metal spacer
Dust boot (includes metal boot spacer, sits against step in strut rod)
Metal spacer (this one might be rattling)
Bump stop
Lower perch
Strut

Thanks for the pictures. I saw that a few hours ago when I was searching and that's why I decided to just through them in and see what happens since all my parts matched yours.

You're right about the metal piece rattling also, it's the one you guessed, but maybe it won't when I drive it around and just not shake it in my hands.

Now to move onto the fronts after I eat some food.

Well, I put everything back on, and I really don't hear anything out of the ordinary, and I'm still alive, so I guess I did everything right.

BTW, the process sucked. I ended up trashing my OEM shocks because I stripped the top allen key and couldn't get it off, so I just cut all the center bolts off on all 4 shocks, all well.
