Has anyone used the BFG R1 (on any car)? I need to make a decision between using the 225 Hoosier R6 and the 235 BFG R1.

Longevity is a consideration.

Tough call, both are pretty good options but I would probably go with the wider R1.

I've raced on both and have hours and hours on the R1 in the Ford Racing Mustang Challenge Series as well as winning the overall Redline Time Attack and setting their track record there on the R1, granted that was the first weekend the car was ever taken out and it was far from set up, it was a good tire and should have decent longevity.

Thanks Billy. I'm going to try the R1 this fall since there is no contingency money available and then probably switch to the Hoosier in the spring. Hoosier offers NASA TT contigency awards which might offset the shorter life. I chose those sizes because they're the only ones that meet my class requirements.

Then it might be better to go with the Hoosier given that information.
