I do too, but I wonder if the owner had any common sense. You can see how high the snow is, and he/she didn't bother to park it in a safe place...
It is hard to say. He might be driving in or backing out when the ice fell. Anyway, what a waste! :frown:

At least it wasn't a 911? :D

Seriously, i feel sorry for the guy. This reminds me of an NSX prime member who once dropped something of a shelf in his garage and it dinged his NSX. :( Forgotten who posted it, but oh i felt sorry for him.

I see a garage in the picture, wonder why the Porsche wasn't in the garage.

An expensive lesson.

Because some people think it's better to keep $5,000 worth of crap in a garage over a $70,000 car.

It doesn't even look like the garage has been opened as the snow in front of door has no tire tracks.

If he was backing out of the garage the driveway would be clear of snow. In the photo it's clear the garage is still surrounded by snow.

It's a damn good thing no one got hurt/killed over this thing. I'm sure it could have caused some serious injuries... Better a Porsche than a person.

I think the wife was driving and when she saw all the snow in front of the garage decided that she would leave it there and get her husband to put it away when he got home from work...

The photos were taken by the husband when he did get home....

Brian, how do you dig up all this stuff?

Put the kids and wife to bed by 9, and the rest of the night is mine to surf the net.

haha... i'll photoshop a simulation of that for next week's avatar if you'd like? It could be called "Avatar #2" :p

Note to self: Add Neo to your ignore list for the next couple of weeks.

Imagine if they had gone on vacation for a couple of weeks and it was near spring. Come home car is all dented in but by what? The ice would have melted by then. Did someone steal the car crash it and return it? Was it vandalized? Just what the hell happened here. LOL

Last week I had a chunk of ice fall off one roof straight through another lower roof at one of my rentals. Huge hole in the roof.

danGER....I always knock those ice down....cause you never know when they're gonna fall...especially when its right on top of your entrance..

Maybe his NSX was in the garage.

If you look at the garage roofline pic #1, it appears to be a 2 car garage. Also, the tire tracks in the last pic seem to indicate that the left side is the one used.

Definitely sad to see, but probabaly was just one of those 'I'll just park it here for a sec' kinda things.

The owner of the car will be hearing that "crashing thud" the ice made when it brutalized the fenders of his Porsche in his sleep for the rest of his life. It probably sounded just like an auto accident without the skids.

As my Father would tell me, it's "just" a car, that's meant to be driven. That is what insurance is for, right? My parents have cars to get from point A to point B. My dad would still be driving his crap brown 76 Nova if the thing had not taken a dump on him ohhhh 25 years ago. He still misses that car.
