Any suggestions? I was going to buy stock, but I know there must be better. I have seen CF pads on ebay. Anygood? Cobalt? Not for track, just normal street driving.

Also: My rotors came in the mail with some surface rust. What is the best way to remove it. Is there anything I should coat the rotor with (Rust inhibitor) while it is off the car?

I know that there are tratments that remedy rust as well. Does anyone know of a place in Portland that offers theses services?

Thanks,
Bryan

Not necessarily. There are lots of different kinds of brake pads on the market. Some are designed specifically for track use, with greater resistance to fade when very hot. Some are designed specifically for endurance use, to last a long time in track events. Some are designed for street use, with reduced levels of dust, effectiveness when cold, and no squealing. Some are even designed for high-performance street use, with these same characteristics along with the ability to stand up to an occasional track event.

The stock pads are in this last category. They are actually quite decent in performance, while making them an excellent all-around choice for those who use their NSX primarily on the street. I would recommend them in your case.

Feel free to discuss brake pad choices with Andie Lin at Cobalt Friction, who is an NSX owner and an expert on brakes. Oh, and his prices are excellent too.

Mount them on your car and drive it. The rust will wear away as you use the brakes.

No.
