Best Digital Camera around $200?

Hey everyone, I'm in the market for this, and am wondering if anyone can give recommendations, I want at least 2.0meg and some type of optical zoom...

I'm looking at the Nikon coolpix2500, or Fuji 2650 for now, some other models too...thanks!

Check out dpreview.com for a lot of reviews. There should be several 2.1 MP (1200x1600) cameras in this range.

I just purchased a coolpix 995 which I am very happy with. The cost was almost double what you are hoping to spend. You may want to consider spending a little more than 200 or you might be disappointed with what you get.

I've found a bunch of good ones for about $200- the problem is that I dont know which brand to get, while I'm sure theyre all a good buy..

I was in the market for 25 of those (for work), to meet the same requirements, less than 2 months ago and I ended up purchasing the Fujifilm FinePix 2600. At that time it sold for $229 at Amazon.com.

It has great reviews all over the web and there were a number of other advantages that led me to select it.

I've heard no negative feedback from the users either.

A few features that I find important in selecting a digital camera are:

1) Optical zoom (digital zoom sucks)
2) Uses AA batteries (instead of proprietary rechargeables or uncommon/expensive lithiums)
3) Uses CompactFlash memory (cheap, high capacity, and no copy protection schemes to prevent you from copying files)
