So who has the best deal on Timing Belt Service?
Nigel? AutoWave? some Dealership? Some independent Acura service?

Can't tell you who's cheapest but avoid Santa Monica Acura at alll costs for any NSX work!

Also, since it's your NSX, I'd look for the best qualified shop and person that can do the job, and not just the best price.

You should be able to find the answers by searching through this forum. Last time I checked and had mine done(1+ year ago), the price range for timing belt/water pump parts and labor is ~900-1200.

I had mine done at Mission Viejo Acura and did all the applicable services at the same time like water pump, valved adjustments, etc. The price was pretty close to Autowave and although they did an ok job, Autowave throws in some extras at a minimal cost that MV Acura doesn't. Convenience was a major factor for my decision because they're closer to my home and provided a rental car at no choice. That said, I'll be doing all my major services at Autowave or Niguel Motors from here out because:
- they have 1 NSX mechanic (Tim) who only works certain days and happened to go on vacation so it ended up taking almost 2 weeks
- MV does a good job but Autwave really 'cares' about the job they do
- Price in hindsight, was negligable for the 'extras' I would have had done

You can see pics of my belt and my thread here.

PM me if you have other questions.

Had mine done by 'AUTOWAVE' and highly recommend them. Ron and Shane are a pleasure to deal with. They are very experienced with NSX's and found them to be very honest. Their price was better than my local dealer and they work on far more NSX's than your local dealer. Ron their NSX technician did such a fine job you could not tell the engine had ever been out.

I agree with SilverOne - Go for a reliable place, not the cheapest.
Mission Viejo, or South Bay Acura would probably do a fine job.

I looked into a lot of places, asked lots of questions and ended up at Autowave.

Prob go with Nigel Motors since they are talked about here with recommedations and when I called, they seem pretty upfront and with great prices.

Autowave seem very maticulous with there work but a lot more $ on the quote.

Don't forget about Applied Motorsports...The ONLY "NSX ONLY" shop in the country....I think? Give Nick a call !!!

Does he do alignments?

I ended up in Niguel Motors. They will have my car for a few day for TB, Plugs, Window seal, and A/C conversion service.

Ramone personally has a blk 91. very clean setup. with 17/18 Azev wheels , Bilstein and flowmaster exhaust.

Does anyone have a quote for how much autowave charges for timing belt only? I saw $900 - $1200 for belt plus water pump.

Thanks!

I Call autowave a couple weeks ago and got $1649 for the TB and water pump service. They say something about dropping the engine to do the job to avoid damage to your body. seem like they will really take car of your car. but ....

I went to Niguel Motors for
TB / WP service
A/C r134 conversion
Plugs
Gear oil
and window seal replace

all for less than Autowave's quote.

Ramone also threw in a couple of service for free. I tell you I'm going back to ramone.

I can second 91x on Nick's meticulous, DEEP knowledge of the NSX. Nick can probably take apart the entire car and put it back in 1 day with his eyes closed :)

Nick was tremendous in helping me to get my snap ring issue resolved in few days, also an alignment job. Shop is so clean, one can probably eat off the floor.

Does anyone have nicks number? I need to do TB, water pump, seals, ect. I got the same quote from Autowave of around $1600.

Autowave also does the cam and crank seal for that price..they also drop the engine to avoid damage to your car. I like that personally.
