BEST BRAKE PADS

I have the ferodo DS2500 in front and axis ultimates in the rear. They are very good and definetly stop the car better than the stock pads. However, the DUST a lot more. If you really want to stop fast, i would get different pads, but if you are more concerned with looks, stick to OEM because you are going to have to clean your wheels all the time!

PS.. the also started squeaking since it got cold..

There is no universal "best". Some pads cost less. Some last longer. Some are quieter. Some dust less. Some are more resistant to fade when you're on a racetrack. It all depends on what you care about the most, depending on how you use your car.

Advice: Call Andie Lin at Cobalt Friction. He carries quite a few different brands at excellent prices and can give you great advice on what to get. And he drives an NSX, too, so he's familiar with what works on our cars.

I have project Mu pads from Dali. I'm quite happy with them.
They stop noticeably better, require less pedal effort and don't dust all that much more than stock. I've had them for about 10k miles and have had no problems or squeals with them. Haven't tracked them yet but plan to Pahrump them this weekend.

NetViper...

Whats the reason for differant brands on the front and the back?

Nsxstacy...

Well put, and very good points.

Thanks guys for all your help!

Love the Ferodo 2500's, very good.
As pointed out, very dusty for the daily driving.

It depends on what you will use them for. The stock pads are horribly expensive, but last forever (my first set lasted over 60k) and dust very little, but will not hold up to extremely spirited driving, or tracking. They cannot handle the increased temps.

I have been running Carbotech brake pads for over a year and absolutely love them. I use the Panther Plus pads as I track my car often. They do dust a lot, but do not squeal if you reuse the factory shims and lube appropriately. They will wear your rotors faster if driven a lot on the street. If this is more of a street car, then the regular Panther pads will probably be better and a little cheaper, and not dust as bad. Chris Wilson at Science of Speed sells these, or you can get in touch with me directly to discuss them more thoroughly. (I have an extra set

Andie at Cobalt said for my needs, it would be fine, so that is what I did. I am happy with the breaking performance. The dusting I am not used to, and the squeal has only been in the cold.
