Best (and cheapest) place for a timing belt water pump in Orance County?

Very very reasonable. I had mine done a couple days ago. I bought the parts from Nielo Acura and brought them to Ramone in Niguel Motors for the labor.

Check with Auto Wave in Huntington Beach 714-841-2433.

i highly recommend niguel motors.
excellent work, excellent prices, factory trained, and a hell of a nice guy.

autowave does good work, but their prices sent me looking elsewhere.

never dealt with applied.

hope this helps.

I'm sure they are all qualified to work on the X. However, if they're good enough for the FlameMobile then they're good enough for me. Besides, price is an artificial measure, quality is the true measure. Remember you get what you pay for; isn't that why we bought an NSX in the first place?

very true... most of the time. if there is a direct relationship between price and quality, does that mean my clutch was installed HALF AS WELL by niguel motors?? cuz that's about what i saved.

btw, wasn't the flamemobile camped out at a certain other shop in HB until recently? apparently they don't always pick the good ones.

see scott's response below:D

I have been very satisfied with Ramon, even allows customer to supply parts as Spinner said. Top quality IMO.

As far as I know the FM has been serviced/tuned by AW since last year.

Niguel Motors, 27140 Cabot Road "B", Laguna Hills, CA 92653, Ramon Quintinita (949) 348-2476 :)

Highly recommends Ramon, he did my timing belt/water pump last year, very satisfied with the work. I was lazy, so had Ramon get the parts for me. Overall, I think it's still lower than the quotes I've gotten from other places.

You can't find another more trustworthy shop around OC. Applied Motor is also great, but a bit farther for OC/LA people.

As you can see by the posts above, people are very loyal to the folks working on their cars. I use Autowave and I have that same loyalty to them. I don't shop around. I look for a place I can have a personal relationship with and stick to it. I paid a lot for this car and now that I'm racing it, I want a team that I trust and one that knows my car.

So pick one and stick with them!

If I might chime in, I would also recommend Ramon. The only two people I will allow to touch my car are either Ramon or Gerry Johnson. I actually talked to Ramon about this the other day, and I think he quoted something like $350 to change the timing belt and waterpump. I don't know if that is with parts, or supplying your own (mine was done by Gerry Johnson recently), so you'd have to contact him. In any event it is a hell of a good price in comparison. The way Ramon does it is to leave everything in the car because he has small hands (what he told me), so that cuts down on labor cost.

When it comes to an NSX don't go for cheap, go for good quality. Fortunately, Ramon is both.

It's worth the 25 minute drive south of OC to take it to Nick at Applied Motorsports, the other shops are probably good, but if you want it worked on by an NSX specialist(thats all he works on) take it to Nick... Trust me, call Nick. 760-439-0959.. Twice the service and knowledge of a dealer at half the cost...

Another place is Acura of South Bay.

I've been getting my services done by Jon Martin lately and he makes sure the work is thorough and complete. I would go to Ramon also but he's so FAR away from me. But I would not hesitate to have him do work on my car.

We are very fortunate to have competent people available to work on our NSX's. Not everyone is as lucky. Variety is the spice of life!

good mech in oc

For those of you who had service with Jon Martin @ South Bay Acura: What were the prices like for a water pump/belt change? For a 60K tuneup? I also want to take my car to Ramon in the OC, but it's too far to drive. If the prices are reasonable at South Bay, how do you request Jon to be the mechanic. Thanks for your input!

Patience could probably assist better but a call to the service department and a request would probably work, give it a try!
