Is there anyone on the board who has owned a Bentley before (or sells them). My dad is considering a 2000 Bentley Arnage R. with 24,000kms. The car looks and checks out clean and the service history looks normal.(it's a canadian 2 owner car sold new at the local authorized Bentley dealer)

Are there any mechanical issues that we should be worried about? One thing that was odd is the brakes were changed last month with such low km's. Maybe the car was sitting and they seized up?

Also the asking price is $149,900 CDN. I compared with similar cars in the Dupont Registry and this car is $5-10,000 cheaper than similarly equipped vehicles in the US. Usually high end cars are more expensive in Canada?

Thanks for any info provided.

I have two young uncles which both have Bentleys, one has a 03 Arnage Red Label and the other has a 03 Arnage-T which he upgraded to last year from his 02 Arnage cause he wasn't happy with the color he got on an impulse buy.

They both tell me that the cars never ever have any engine problems (new or old), but many others minor ones. One said that since the car is hand built there are many minor things that tend to go wrong, and he was aware of that before he got into one and so it was expected.

Lucky for me they let me borrow the cars all the time. I have ran into the minor things like the navigation screen which rises and lowers into the dash would not work every now and then in the T. I say over a week period it failed about 4-5 times. I would pull over on the freeway turn the car off and back on to get this to work. Other minor things would get annoying at times, but when u look up and realize what ur driving all annoyances seem to disappear. One major thing is that the stereos sucks really really bad, the speakers tend to crack when u play anything at higher volumes. They both agree that the car is built for old people because it has no options or gadgets like the S-class or 7-series has.

Don’t get me wrong I absolutely adore the car, if u think u get looks in the NSX drive an Arnage and you are treated like a king everywhere u go, including no line or cover at basically any club you go to. I remember once we were in the car and some super hot blonde chick just knew she was all that and walked up to the car, opened the door and just sat inside of it at a gas station…my uncle being with his wife and all buzzed called her a bitch and told her to get the F out of the car. I can go on about stories with that car all day long…all I have to say is that I will own one some day soon, and my advice to you is go for it!

Here is a T 24 in action, the owner has had nothing but problems with it.
This is his 2nd one, the first one broke down so much that he made Bentley take it back.

And this guy wonders why his cars blow up?
Maybe if i believed he ever treated it well that case might have merit, but not with a picture like that.

edit: didnt see that was the dealer in the back. clever

This person was pissed at the bad service that they got at the Bentley / Rolls Royce dealer, so much so they let us beat on there car in front of the dealers show room.
