So who else is still driving around and hasn't Winterized yet?
Mine's all set to go into hibernation but the weather has been wonderful.

I just took mine out yesterday!

I usually put mine in as soon as the first salt is lay down, but I was to exited to do winter upgrades that its been in storage for last two weeks.

I wish I had it out todat...

My snow wheel/tires arrived a couple weeks ago and I cant wait to put them into action!

Until then the summers got to Montreal and back a few days ago. No reason not to be driving now!

This is an NSX forum Dave. HellooOOooooOO???:biggrin:

Porsche could be in the cards but for now I am quite content staying away from the dark side.

I think we still expect 10-11 degrees this weekend so I plan do more driving. Mind you after all the stolen car threads I am becoming overly sensitive even just doing Starbucks runs.

Enjoy the fall everyone!!

Hi guys, your expat Cdn (Willowdale, Ont) now living in MI checking in. Hope you are all doing well! I've had my /94 out a couple of times a week so far this month and will continue to do so until the snow flies. I met some of the Toronto and London contingent at the RM Motorsports get-together and look forward to meeting more of you next driving season.

Now time for a public confession. I have a pristine Formula Red /94 (stock except for HID upgrade and header, cats and muffler upgrade to a /04 system) with only 35,000 miles and have thoroughly enjoyed the 15,000 trouble free miles I have put on her since I picked her up in Phoenix 2 years ago. This low mileage unmolested beauty is probably one of the nicest /94s in existence. However, I find myself thinking more and more about the P-car for a variety of reasons.

Dave, Sean, Cam & Owen -- you are not helping me with all this P-car talk! Please stop! LOL.

Best,
Jeff

hey Jeff, dont be talking that p-car nonsense.......your car looked great a few weeks ago when i saw ya,
and its totally the right colour combination!!!! That day was a perfect day for a cruise except for all the o.p.p. on the highway!!
looking forward to seeing you next year and feel free to stop in for lunch
cheers!!

ok, ok, i will admit im somewhat of a p-car guy as well......

I think that's Eric's car and I may have been at Tremblant that day.

His car is crazy fast. Ive watched it completely destroy F430 challenge cars too. He brought it out to Mosport for NSXPO 2009 - it was short lived - went off in wet and that beautiful car went back in the trailer.

Guys, what renewed my P-car thoughts was the 911 Turbo that blew by me on my way home from the office on Saturday. He waited until we had both cleared an off ramp from the Interstate that put us on another limited access highway and then pulled out and punched it. I was doing 80 mph and he flew by as if I was standing still. I hope he didn't think I was going to try and keep up -- heck, with my 270 hp I was barely able to keep up with a supercharged Chevy Cobalt a few weeks ago! Nonetheless, I didn't buy the NSX for the purpose of racing people -- I know where the car's strengths and weaknesses lie and can appreciate it for what it is. However, I could use another 50 HP/50 lb/ft TQ for sure! Problem is (no offense meant to anyone here), I'm not a FI fan and taking apart a perfectly good engine that probably has another 200,000 miles of life left to build it (not to mention the cost) isn't in the cards. Hmm, let me see now.......sell the NSX for 40K, add 10K, finance another 15K......thinking I could probably get me a very nice P-car. Just kidding Eddie (well, sort of).

I have a friend at Fred Lavery Porsche in the greater Detroit area. If I find the time, I'm going to take him up on his offer of a couple of hours in a 911 and a Cayman. My other confession (in case I didn't mention it in my earlier post) is that despite the P-car thoughts, I've never driven one!

Best regards to all,
Jeff

No doubt - but be aware that that turbo may not have a stock engine. You can get silly power from 996TTs for really cheap. Regardless, stock for stock a 996TT would still do what you describe.

You dont buy an NSX for performance. You buy it because it is rare, unique, beautiful, the driving position is amazing, it has a timeless design, its reliable and kinda exotic.

Pcars are all over the place for a reason though.

Finally making some sense!! Glad to have you back #5.

Don't do it Jeff, you will regret it and would be tough to find a replacement. You can also expect Pcars to depreciate faster than ours, frequency of repairs and higher maintenance cost. This is why I continue to resist Germanz. 996TTs (or any turbos for that matter) also carry a cool down routine that I don't fancy.

Go out and speak with a few rennlist guys and find out their carrying cost compare to ours over a 24 months period. Your desire will fade quickly.

Dave, Owen and Eddy, I agree with everything you guys have said above -- all good points. I tend to be very slow/deliberate with most decisions and its unlikely that I will part with the NSX any time soon. However, having said this, I do intend to take my friend up on his offer and spend some time driving a 911 and a Cayman. The NSX and the P-cars each have their strengths/weaknesses and at the end of the day they are all pretty great cars and we're lucky to be able to own them and talk about our collective experiences. Wouldn't it be fantastic to be able to hang onto the NSX and add a P-car to the fleet? OK, gotta go buy a lottery ticket now!

Have a great holiday season guys and I hope to see you all in the spring. Eddy, I'll be in touch next time I'm passing through London.

Best,
Jeff
