Hi all  ,

This product is available at BatteriesPlus Store and on sale for $53.99 (original at $59.99). I'm thinking of picking one up this Winter. Has anyone use this product? Please share your opinion.

I just bought this same exact tender for our jet ski. If I remember this one is electronically set so that when the battery is fully charged it shuts off. The jet ski batt is very small so I don't think it has to work as hard.

That's a good one but the Schumacher one is good also and about $20 cheaper. Over the next few weeks, Autovation will begin selling a lightweight battery mount with a Schumacher charger already built into it.

I have this unit and it's fantastic. Many users of the Battery Tender have made quick connect modification to these to get the NSX charged in just a few seconds.

If you want to buy the Schumacher, they came out with a unit that uses the same charging method where it will charge the car, then switch to a safe float voltage without cycling. I would recommend this over the older unit for that reason that it doesn't cycle. This unit can be bought at Walmart for about $20 and it uses the same type of connector as the Deltran unit. I bought one for use for my other car, I haven't tried it out yet but I am planning on going on vacation for about a month and it will be used at my other garage.

I have a tendency to trust the Deltran more since it was pricier and seems better built. But that's not to say that the Schumacher can't be just as good or at least do the job well. It also has a 6v/12v switch which may be beneficial for any 6v ppl out there. :) Here is a link to the product, I think Walmart has the best price.

Ive used Deltran Battery Tender Plus for many years and I am very satisfied. If your car sits for some time (esp during winter), its a must. Great item and Id highly recommend

Is there one that plugs into the cigerette burner outlet?

I have 4 (2-3 different brands) and they are worth the $30+!!!!
I think Northern Tools had the least expensive.

They don't come with a cigarette lighter plug but those are not hard to come by but there is a problem, the NSX cigarette lighter socket is switched so when the car is off it is disconnected so charging through the socket will not work.

Thanks BrianK,

I guess I will have to take her for a spin on Saturdays :)

Thank you everyone for all the great advices. I will check out the new model of Schumacher and the Deltran model.

I have the Battery Tender Jr and this thing is great. It's completely automatic and it just plugs in to the wall, no need to find a place to set it (very small). Been using it for 9 months.

Batteries Plus has it on sale for $29.99.

I use the original one you have pictured... in fact I have one on my NSX, my Pickup, 3 motorcycles, a 4 wheeler and my riding mower! They are fantastic, my stuff always starts in the winter and my batteries last forever. I even plug them in now and then in the summer to top them off.
