help!!!

i have narrowed my decision down to two different types of wheel.both are a 17/18 combo.the choice is work meister s2r or blitz technospeed z2.i have seen the blitz on Johnny(NSX2V) car but i havn't seen any on another nsx(any out there).the work wheels i have seen on Bills(MYNSX)car, but after speaking to SOS,i have been informed that they have a 20mm deeper lip because of his wide kit.
i have looked through the wheel gallery, and i have looked through two seperate threads on 17/18 aftermarket wheels.
i am not going to be buying wheels for a few months yet, because i have a problem trying to sort out wheels that i allready have(which i dont want to keep, long story).
so PLEASE if there is anybody out there with either of the above wheels, post pictures to help me make up my mind.
p.s my car is sebring silver,so if there is anyone with this colour car wearing these wheels HELP ME OUT!!!!!!!!!

THANKS.

james

thanks Micha,
the car looks nice, are you using spacers on the back, the wheels look like they are coming out very far.also what diameter are you using(back and front)and what are the offsets.

THANKS.

Here is a shoot of my car with 17x7, 35 offset fronts and 18x9, 47 offset rears, as recommended from Japan. With Eibach springs, I like the setup very much. These are really well made wheels and lighter than the Blitz Technospeeds. 4 years ago, I was considering the Z1 as well and decided to go with a 2 piece, lighter wheels instead. I love the open spokes. They are simple, yet serious and not too bling bling.

It is not as aggressive as what SOS sells (8" fronts and 10" rears), but when I bought them, they weren't available in the states with the right offset for the NSX. I had my imported from Fuji corp. in Japan.

You can go to the follow site to view my car from stock through wheels upgrade to its current stage. Just click "Show all" to view all the photos.

I hope it helps you decide which wheels to get.

Thanks !

FYI, The front wheels are 8"x17" offset 42 and the rear wheels are 10"x18"
offset 45 with 2.5cm H&R spacers.

You are right, with the 2.5cm spacers the wheels come too far out! I plan
to replace them for the 2cm model.

I am assuming the "blitz" wheel you are speaking of are the ones w/ the ?flat 5 spoke? and the multiple bolts around the lip.IF SO.The decision is a tough one.

This might help.......
IMO the Blitz have a more race tough "chizeled out of a block" feel.
This is a wheel I would choose in the future for myself.

The Work S2R's are beautiful wheel definately race "but" a bit more elegant/refined look with smooth curves.
A better choice for showing the car in my case.

Its a matter of how you view "yourself" in your particular project and the image you want to reflect.I look at my cars as a canvas and all I'm painting is how I "feel".

Am I the only one with these wheels.

Jaytip it's totally up to your taste both wheels are incredible. I think the Blitz wheels look really good with the MH skirts and WW spats gives it that mean look. When I put the wheels on without the body kit they looked to wide from the rear view of the car. But now with the body kit it looks perfect. The only other wheel I would ever change the Blitz for are HRE's.

NSX2NV, you just reminded me why I was drawn to the Blitz Z1s... those beautiful lips! Blitz is a good choice too.

Jaytip, to answer your question, I had already decided on 215/40 fronts and 255 or 265/35 rears before I purchase the wheels. So whatever wheels I was going to go with, I'll have the same tires. I went with a more conservative route for the following reasons:

1> Save weight- The bigger the wheels, the heavier they get. Trivial I guess.

2> 8" fronts are marginal when comes to rubbing on full turns. Some do and most don't. Since I know I was not going to be able to exchange the wheels, I took the safe route.

3> Cost. It is always that voice in my head to not over spend.

4> I prefer not to have to stretch look on the tires. I like the side wall to be straight. Just a matter of taste.

5> I don't like my wheels sticking out too far. More rock chips on the sides and more importantly, it'll change the suspension geometry more than what I'd prefer. I tried to stay as close to OEM setup as possible.

Unless if I want to run 225/40 fronts and 285/35 rears, I think I made the right choice. I wouldn't mind running 7.5 and 9.5 though, but Work S2R doesn't offer halves.

Happy shopping! I do believe that the wheels will transform the look of your car. So choose wisely. Buy want you like and what fits your needs. Recently, I have been considering TE37 for its light weigh design and simple looks too. The diamond cut finish on a silver car will look good, but no lips though.
