For those of us that are mechanically inclined, is there a reason why I don't see anyone doing balljoint replacements on this car?
I haven't come across any good DIYs or even some decent pics (d1 guy has some pics actually)
How difficult could this be?
I've done 100's on hondas, never attempted on NSX b/c of the communities negativity about it. I'm reading: send it to the gentleman in California 'cause he does them. With all due respect, so what? What is he doing that is so magical?
Is the balljoint itself rare (and if so how does the guy in Cali get them?)

so many balljoints on this car, so much fear..... I don't get it. Someone help me understand.

As on a Porsche we used to have, the ball joints are not available as replacement parts through Honda.........they want to sell you a new control arm assembly with the ball joint included.

As Steve Gent (guy in CA) has noted, these ball joints are not off the shelf parts.
He has his made, and does the machining on our control arms / Hubs to fit the new ones.
Due to the nature of the aluminum and the heat required in the process, this isn't really a DIY type process- so it's best to utilize a professional here.

Just my 2 cents (have his ball joints on our LoveFab car),
Brian

Steve's products are very good.

I do not see many ball joints failing, assuming not a wreck;)....
