Baffle Of Crock

The air intake baffle is a bunch of crock! There is no direct air getting into the baffle, though it has a scoope sort of, but its over top of and ahead of the actual air vent, none of the vents are even close to gettingg direct air, no way.

I had removed the baffle and today re-installed it with a top stuffed in the back of the forward portion of the scoope like I heard to try on the Prime and there is a little noise, but I don't see how the air vent allows any direct air into the scoope or the bay, some maybe because there are actually 2 holes that go into the engine bay from the driver's side. The one to the left houses or is open to allow a thin rubber hose (a/c maybe and the fuel fill tube to enter into the engine bay, and the other which is a rubber fitting for the scoope/baffle. What a crock, I think, totally useless, my point of view only.

Additionally the side vents do come off. There are little screws on the left side of the vent from the wheelwell entry and you can use a small flathead to take them out be gentle they will break off if there is too much pressure so WD-40'em, but the right side has some other type of fasteners I cant see or get my hands on, there are 2 of them. Any ideas how to get them off?

Having said all of that, I can really see how the Cantrell Intake System works wonders. I will attempt to fabricate my own. Any advise will do. What a crock, the baffle is, but I still love my NSX!

What do you mean? The intake system is a negative pressure device. It sucks air through a filter. As long as there is connection to open air, it will do its job just fine. What is this "crock" thing?

So you are saying as long as there is air, no matter where it's coming from it's a good system? Maybe I have it all wrong but I thought that direct air to the vent, cooler air mind you would be best. I don't work at Honda and maybe they do have it figured out. This baffle/scoope is not even in contact with the air vents. It sits above and ahead of the vents. Any air is better than no air, I guess. Anyway thanks for any imput at all. Great site, glad to be a Member! All thougts welcome, willing to learn always. Yup!

After further review, I have been enlightend ref: The Stock Air Intake System Baffler/Scoope. Air thru the vents that causes a type of low pressure that gets sucked up by the Engine thru the Air Filter when the car needs more air the low pressured air is already available. The air in this case doesn't go directly to the intake but gathers behind the air vent and sucked up or inhaled thru the baffler/scoope. "I see said the blind man,I think!" I trust Honda knows best! I'm still going to fabricate. LOL!
