Could be the starter but if it works after bumping the engine over a little it more likely you have a bad spot on the fly wheel ring gear and it needs to be replaced. Pull off the inspection cover turn the engine with a wrench on the crank pully bolt and take a look at all the teeth. Also never turn the engine counter clockwise.
