Got a pristine looking 91 , 9 months ago... first a leaky clutch slave, then the A/C idler pulley bearing seized, a problem with the TB replacement job lead to 4 bent valves... no problem repaired, 10 days later a VVIS screw took my #3 piston and cylinder, got a freshly rebuilt engine, started it on Friday, took the car for break in cruise, and then the gremlins took out the alternator.... and there is a split left rear ball joint boot waiting to be replaced,,, if it is possible... but I still like the car..... need a shrink??

The clutch slave seems to be a common failure item after 20 years particularly if the fluid wasn't being flushed regularly.
The idler pulley sounds like too much tension applied after the timing belt job as does the alternator failure. The ball joint boot is a common repair item.
Sounds like your car has had some bad maintenance work done on it and it's coming to roost.

The VVIS screw is a tragedy and not many have had that problem.
Was your car modified at some point that would have had the intake/VVIS opened up?

No, it was completely stock....now will rebuild the original block, will resleeve, and increase bore t0 3.3L, yes bad luck...

Well good luck with the rebuild and I hope your troubles are behind you

Wow, :frown:. Sorry to hear about your NSX going through so much. Everything is going to be ok. It just need some love and care that's all.
