Hi

My babe is 13 years old an the climatic control leaks somewhere. My garage didn't find the leak properly. I have to fill it up every spring to make it work for about 10 months. Does anybody have the same problem? What is the worst case scenario?

Greetings
Thomas

dye test

Hi

Yes, I think they did the dye test. But I'm not sure if my garage is an expert as far as climatic control is concerned. Still a problem in Europe to find a climatic control professional. They have found 2 O-rings and changed them. It was better than 2 years ago when I lost the freon faster. After the same period the compressor still runs but without cooling. 2 years ago the comp didn't work at all after 12 months.

regards,
Thomas

I would ask around and try to find someone with a little more experience. A few things you can do is check the sight glass on the receiver dryer (under the front hood), see if its clear or bubbles. Also, are both condenser fans running? Put your ear just above each headlight with the car running and AC on high, you should be able to hear both right and left fans running.

Hopefully you do not have a leak in the evaporator.

And the english word is climate control, not climatic control (that sounds a bit perverse:p :D )

good luck

What's the problem in the evaporator? High costs?

The problem with the evap is the labor charge to get to it. The entire dash assembly has to come out. It can be inspected by taking the blower motor off.

Read all about it in the FAQ.
