B&B/RM exhaust causing trunk vibrations!

The rear/trunk area of my NSX has been making a vibrating sound...very LOUD...similar to the sound of a car with big sub woofers and no dynomat...from 3k-3.5k RPM under load. It doesn't make the sound when just reving the car...only when the clutch is engaged. Since this is the range that my B&B exhuast has a bit of a droaning issue, I just figured something may be loose. I checked out my license plate since that's what it sounded like was vibrating but it's on tight. After visually and hand checking some of the other fasteners underneath the truck and on the exhauset. Everything looked/felt tight! I removed the license plate and added some electrical tape around the lower edges that mate with the license holder (I don't have a license plate frame, only OEM holder). Now the vibrating sound is happening between 2.5k-3k!!! I'm going to buy some dynomat for the back of the license plate to see if this will make it go away, but I'm just wondering if any other owners have had this issue. If you have or have any suggestions for where to look for the vibration (other than the license plate)...fire away! Thanks.

Check for a rise in heat in the trunk. You really need to get up there with a mirror or remove the exhaust and check it for cracks. Seen a few melt downs with these. Better to be safe then sorry:)

Thanks for the input. I've had it on the car for about six to eight months. I didn't have any problems until about a week ago. I use the trunk a lot and it never seems extemely hot so I don't think the heat is the issue. But I'll check when I get back in town tonight. I may just take it into Greenlight and have them check the torque on all the bolts since they installed it.

Okay...I took it to Greenlight and Jerry figured it out. The muffler was blown. We thought it was internal until it came off the car...then we found a large crack (about 7 inches) on the TOP of the muffler. So Everett welded it up and it's back on the car! Boy did I notice the difference! The cars got more power and doesn't sound like it's rattling to pieces. I'll post pics when I get back from Atlanta! B&B called me back today (I had called them over the weekend while they were closed). I told them how it was fixed and they said they would have just done the same since it's a few years old. Not sure what caused it but I'm sure glad it's fixed!

Not fixed anymore. Weld held, but more cracks formed. Called B&B but the warrantee is for 2 years. The lifetime warranty is on corrosion! It comes off tomorrow and will probably be sent to B&B for repair or replacement!

Exhaust is now off and will be sent to B&B as soon as I find time. The stock exhaust is back on and my NSX now sounds like an Accord!

Glad i didn't get the B&B.
