AZ Spring NSX drive before Summer - April 22, 2006

Hi AZ NSXers,

It's time for one last drive before things really heat up for the summer.

I'd like to propose a drive to Wickenburg - Prescott - Jerome - Sedona.

Orbusrex has discovered some new twisty roads on the way to Prescott that he thinks we should explore, and I did the Prescott - Jerome - Sedona drive with our out of town NSXPO guests and found the drive to be invigorating and beautiful.

We also have new NSX owners who will make the drive, including the commander of DPS who has a gorgeous new yellow NSX.

Please vote on the best day for the drive, and we shall make it happen!!!

Please remember - this is to be a fun and leisurely cruise. Safety and fun will be our main goals. Therefore no reckless driving, speeding, or any other dangerous road behavior.

Since this is going to be a long and invigorating cruise, we need to meet up early in the morning, around 8am. We should be in Wickenburg by 10am, Prescott by 11:30am. Stop for lunch in Prescott. Then head over to Jerome / Sedona by 1:30 ~ 2pm.
Plan on being back in town by around ~4 or 5 pm (via I-17 South). For those who are interested, we can also plan dinner at a NW Phoenix Vietnemese restaurant that is just superb (refreshing boba / asian smoothies with delicious asian plates)!!!

Let's make this a cruise to remember!!! :biggrin:

PS - Heather/Stephen - you may want to come up the night before - if you need a place to park your NSX you're welcome to my garage. Or if my driveway is too high, I'm sure we could find another garage for you to park it. I can also arrange a hotel room for you guys (paid for my me).

Stephen and I can both go on the 15th! I'm hoping for that date! :biggrin:

We will most likely be staying up there the night before, but we have to return Saturday night to Tucson. The last time we did the Sedona drive, we left Tucson around 5:30 am. It was much too long of a day!

Hopefully we can plan a drive to Mt. Lemmon soon too, but we can wait for warmer weather for that one. :wink:

Easter week-end looks bad right now so the 15th wouldn't be good but the 22nd or May 6th are ideal. If the 15th is good for the majority go with it...Ill be "yellow" with envy when I think of the time you're all havin'...It's only been one day since I last drove and it's driving me crazy. How am I going to stay under the 2000 mile per year insurance limit?!

just got a promotion so i'm the bottom of the barrel in management... weekneds are going to be tough for me now... but hey, i should be able to get my taitec or tubi a bunch quicker now!!

i'll chime in later when i have a better idea of schedule!

Blackcat...can't give away any trade secrets but I do know about staffing formulas and highway coverage and we would be, how shall I say, lightly chaperoned.

Hey Everyone!!

I dont know if you are going to be doing anything this weekend or not still, but if you guys get together for anything someone give me a call because I will be in town this 13-18th..I already talked to Heather and she said they will be coming into town too... So maybe we can all go get some food or something if there ends up being no drive..Anyways, miss all you AZ NSXers!

Let's do the run on April 22nd. I am exhausted from my weekend trip to Vegas, plus I still need to do my taxes this week and a lot of meetings at work.

I'd like to meet at Desert Ridge (101/Tatum), as I'm on the west side, around 8am. We can take the Carefree highway like our NSXPO route, which was beautiful.

Hi Redshift,

With a long drive it doesn't sound like you're going to get any takers for breakfast before we go. Too bad you can't make the drive as I haven't met you yet. There's an open free car show at Christ Church of the Valley on the west side I heard about yesterday, they say come on by and if we get the chance (Sat. tomorrow 1530-2000 hours with dinner provided!) after the drive. Maybe you could make that?
