We do copy various data by ctrl+c for pasting elsewhere. This copied data is stored in clipboard and is accessible from the net by a combination of _JavaScript's and ASP.

Just try this:
1) Copy any text by ctrl+c
2) Click the Link:

http://www.friendlycanadian.com/applications/clipboard.htm

3) You will see the text you copied on the Screen which was accessed by this web page.
Do not keep sensitive data (like passwords, credit card numbers, PIN etc.) in the clipboard while surfing the web. It is extremely easy to extract the text stored in the clipboard to steal your sensitive information.

AVOID COPYING ANY IMPORTANT STUFF AND KEEP IN THE CLIPBOARD WHILE SURFING THE NET.

I was worried about this exploit, but I have only seen one website request this, and it was obvious - they let the surfer know that they were doing this. I wouldn't be too worried. Good to know still though.

If the website were doing this for nefarious reasons, do you think they'd be obvious about it?

I'm also not too worried about it, but I did change my setting to "prompt" as posted above...

Wow, I am very anal about not allowing most anything without prompt or known certificates etc, but I had missed this one. Thanks for the tip.

You mis-understand. I've had my browser prompt for this since 2 years ago, and no website has attempted this without permission. This is an extremely unlikely exploit, since the information is so limited and probably of minimal value.
