avg. 60' times...

my 91' 68k, intake with K&N and DINAN chip
2.342 with 1.020 reaction time 1st time at the track ever
2.247 with .805 reaction time 2nd run a little better
that was launching at 3800-4000 rpm, but I am still on the original clutch

I ran a 2.015 with my 93, with 40 PSI in the 265 width rears and no burnouts at 50 F. ambient temp. Car is stock except for the rims/tires, H&R springs and RSR exhaust.

I thought your NSX wasn't exactly stock, with all the weight you removed and a few bolt ons?

Search for the older drag race threads, as there was a lot of talk on the subject back in September.

First Night at the Drag Strip, EVER! 13.94

Well,

Drag racing isn't as easy as it looks. Tonight some of my friends with Camaros asked me to go to Moroso with them. Sure...

1st run... Bogged ... 2.35 60', 14.346s 1/4
2nd run ... Bogged ... 2.44 60', 14.414s 1/4
3rd run ... Bogged ... more of the same but a good RT
4th run ... launched at 6k by accident, spun out entire 1st gear ... 15.2s 1/4

5th run ... motivated now ... (see timeslip below)

I ran my 92 NSX back in 6/7/2002 and just recently on 10/24/2003 at Sacramento Raceway.
My mods included K&N FPIK, Comptech exhaust, Davis race clutch, Japanese short gears, Junn lightweight flywheel and removed spare tire. Running on stock 15 & 16 wheels with Yokohama A-022 tires. I am about 200 lbs.
Here is my best run for the evening of 6/7/02.

Reaction: .598
I1 : 2.123
I2 : 5.842
I3 : 8.865
MPH (I3): 81.632
I4 : 11.431
E.T. : 13.611
MPH : 103.824

On 10/24/03, I added Comptech headers, put on my heavier 17x8 and 18x10 Volk Racing AV3 wheels with Bridgestone S-02 tires. Changed K&N FPIK to stock airbox with Comptech Uni filter and installed a Cantrell AIS intake scoop. Everything thing else was the same. Here is my best result that evening.

Reaction: .802
I1 : 2.067
I2 : 5.714
I3 : 8.644
MPH (I3): 83.161
I4 : 11.141
E.T. : 13.258
MPH : 106.335

i have been able to pull pretty consistent 1.98-2.00 60'ers on my street tires (18" rears w/ 265's). i run the tires at about 25psi with no dry hop. my best ever 60'er was a 1.96 which i have been unable to duplicate.

i went back out last night for some bracket racing and managed to pull a 12.92 @ 108 (2.03 60') but could not get any traction at all as the temps dropped.

i think my reaction time of .500 will be hard to beat.
Litespeeds can vouch for me as he was there to witness it. :D

my mods include dc header, taitec gt lightweight exhaust, dali hotchip, injen intake, ct r&p, japanese shortgears, ct pg2 clutch.

RedlineRex is a very good driver. He is so consistent that it is kind of scary. I guess with over 1000+ launches at the strip, one can't help but get good.
All I can say is I need some serious practice.
I saw his perfect reaction time of .500 when we went out together. What was funny about the track that evening was the miles per hour fluctuation between the left and right lanes. It didn't really happen with my runs but it did with his as well as one of my friends.
The right lane showed a faster mph than the left lane. My buddy ran his 88 Porsche 930 turbo and had about eight 110 mph runs on the right lanes but only 101-102 mph on the left lane with three runs.
RedlineRex had the 108mph on the right lane but got a few 105-106mph on the left lane, if I remembered right.
Probably could be a malfuction on the radar at the end of the 1/4 mile but to have a 8-9 mph difference is really weird.
We had a great time and would love to have other's join us next year when we go out again.
I guess it is more wear and tear on your clutch than anything else but it is fun nevertheless.
I hope RedlineRex will join me next year when I go out to Thunderhill again. Been there 4 times and love that track.
