AutoX OC caravan

Its that time again to start setting up a caravan. The meeting place is the same Starbucks, our usual meeting place, at the north/west corner of Walnut and Culver Dr. just south of the 5 fwy.

We should be able to get there by 8, which gives us 30 mins to get setup.

Please let me know so that I can have a head count. PM me if you need my cell phone number. In the past, it worked out really well picking up other cars along the freeway without stopping.

From Irvine, we are going to take 5N, 22W, 405N. If you are along the way, and would like to ride with us, please let me know. Stragglers are welcomed!

For the SD folks, that means another 4:30 drive.

Hey OC guys and gals. We are trying to maximize everyone's drive time and have longer run sessions this time. So, the driver's meeting(required) starts at 7:15am and the first run group is running at 7:45am. Please adjust that caravan departure time accordingly. This is the only way we can increase run times.

I believe we stayed on 405 last time. I was going to do the same. I guess we can take the scenic route if there is no objection from the rest. Team, please PM me your opinion.

7:15 am meeting

It shouldn't take more than 45 minutes to get from Irvine to HP at that time in the morning on a saturday....So 6:15 am should be plent o' time to be there by 7:15 am for the meeting....

BTW, why not just stay a little longer to get maximum run time rather then having to get up soooo early???...especially for us San Diegans

Sorry about the early wake up call, but we are trying to run as long as possible.
We are running sessions right up to 5pm. and that's about what time dusk sets in. It would be a little dangerous to keep running then. I recently ran SCCA at HP and at 4:45pm it was starting to get dark. We took this under consideration when we made the schedule. After the upcoming time change, the next auto-x could hopefully start a little later and run a little later into the evening. Also, now that the SoCal region has it's own timing equipment and cones, it would be a great time to for OC/San diego guys to organize an auto-x a little closer to your area.

Since we are planning to be there so early in the morning, I guess we are going to take the most direct route and stay on 405 instead of going through 605 and 105. Sorry Simon!

Since the forum was down and I don't know who's going to be at the OC meeting point, we'll just have to leave promptly at 6:15. I'm trying to be there before 7 so that we'll have 15 mins. to settle down and walk the course before the drivers' meeting at 7:15.

If you don't like walking too much, bring a razor scooter. It is easier to walk the course and getting to your assigned work location on a scooter.

Upon closer look, I think it is probably just as good getting on 5N to 91W, 605N, 105W and exit on Praire exit.
