Autoweek reports fire from Fisker (NSX Damaged?)

As long as the frame is intact Shawn can rebuild it!!

I don't think a frame would stop Shawn from rebuilding one... it can be done, made better, buffed out. No problem

What a shame, the Fisker Karma is one of the sexiest 4 door sedans I've seen. I hope this incident isn't a death blow for the already troubled company. Too bad about the NSX too, if it was also damaged by the fire.

thanks for the shout out DocL

when it pops up on auction I will post pics LOL I wonder how bad it was anyone got a pic of the other cars?

if that guy sends me his burned NSX I will fix it, done it before can do it again for cheaper now that I know the ropes.

pass it along. LOL

This is one reason why I don't leave my trickle charger on all the time. Even though in this case it wasn't plug in. You never know if the charger malfunctions. Just my 2 cents.

There are heavy investors in Fisker, they are not going to let it go down. These a big powerful companies. Unlike public perception the majority of money in fisker is from private equity not the government. They have since asked henrik fisker to step down as CEO and have someone with real automotive experience to run he company. Henrik will continue with the company.

Don't forget this guy was a designer....

Driving a Karma around a city is an experience. People's reactions are unreal. I am not sure an aventador would get more reaction than this car does. People have taken me as an excessively pushy admirer trying to go through crowds to get into it.

...a little Bondo, ...a little touch-up paint, 4 new tires, a fresh charge and she should be ready to roll again.

:( did this belong to someone on prime? I've looked at the Karma's in person. They are nice cars.

So you can determine how nice the car is by looking at it?

Well the visual and touch sensory aspect of it. I have not driven or ridden in one unfortunately.

It drives incredibly well. The 1000 lb/ft of torque feel pretty good. The fit and finish is really nice and the car is very quiet. The steering has great feel. The rise is smooth despite 22" tires. Overall you feel like you are driving a very solid car. It's drawback is that internal room is limited compared to its external size.

Obviously it has bugs. The pressure to get a car out to market as fast as possible hurt them. The government had strict dates on getting cars out or else they would not receive loan payments. the car is bleeding edge technology, not a "bargain", and not for everybody.

In person, it is incredibly beautiful. Perhaps the best looking car I have ever seen.

I've driven it and I can tell you its a nice car.

So you have driven the car and can tell me it is a nice car without having extensive and intimate experience with it? It's almost like renting a escort girl for a short period of time and claim she is super nice and well behaved...lol

Vance are you going to turn this into another political thread? You've expressed plenty of opinion on how nice or not nice a car is with your own test drives of cars, I have read them for years. Now you are trying to tell me my time and drives of the car is not good enough to know if it is nice or not? I have probably spent more time with this fisker than its owner. I know he car intimately well. And I think it is a terrific car. It feels very sporty and it is difficult to remember it is a plug-in. It also emits some of the coolest sounds there is. This is a real CONCEPT CAR that is on the road. All the times you see concepts and think they are cool, and then the production version sucks, this one is the exception. That happened only because for the first time ever the CEO is a designer. If anyone likes cars, they should have something to like about this car. It absolutely drops jaws wherever it goes. The fire is unfortunate, but I am certain that some people are very happy because if gives them a chance to knock a car that doesn't fit their political views.
