Just spoke to the good guys over at Autowave, and was told that they send out all the alignments to another shop. Has anyone had one of their sublet alignments, and are you happy with the results?

It's a bit of a drive for me to go down there, but I hear they are the ones to see for service. Just wondering if I could stay local to me in northern LA county, or should I drive her down to Autowave and let them take care of the alignment?

Is an alignment on an NSX much more difficult than on any other ride? Do I need to pay special attention to who I let perform the service?

If you can make it I would go to Darren at West End Alignment located in either Torrance/Redondo Beach area. He is on Vermont. Trust me you won't regret the experience as he does all hand alignments on a Snap On rack. He is very detailed/cleaned. He even does corner balancing for those with coilovers. I trust Autowave as well but don't know anything about their sublets.

Wheel alignment on a nsx takes twice as long as most cars do. Wheel alignment is critical to proper handling characteristics and the obvious and oh so important tire wear. If a Shop has to Sublet the car out I would want to know who they send it to and what kind of an aligner do they use and do they warranty thier workmanship. The next question being how far away is the shop and do I really want somebody joy riding in my nsx to and from. last but not least is the cost factor and the shop that sends it out I am sure is making some sort of mark up on the wheel alignment. I dont know anything about autowave but if I was having my car serviced then I would considering letting them sublet the alignment just for the convienence of not having to take it somewhere else

If all you're having done is an alignment, just call Shane and ask him for the alignment guy's number and deal with him directly. I'm sure Shane would perfer that anyway because what with the little mark-up on the price for him to take it down there and back, it just isn't that much to him. The alignment only takes about an hour so you can make an appointment there and just wait for it.

And as pointed out in above posts, there are other places as well.

I recommend Darren as well. He does excellent work. He does a lot of work for Porsche guys tuning suspension for track use.

Also try Wheel Warehouse in Anaheim. They have done a great job on my car. No complaints.

I agree! Darren at West End Alignment is simply amazing. He did the alignment on my track car and the difference was like night and day. Does everything the hands on "old school" way and the results are excellent!

I've also been to Wheel Warehouse, and they do a great job as well. Ask for Brian if you go to Wheel Warehouse. Real nice guy!

I actually have an appointment with Darren this coming Monday to set my baby straight.

Thanks for the suggestions guys.

A friend of a friend told me about some alignment place about a year ago that he just swears by. Well long story short, when we looked up the name of the place he gave us way back when, it was West End Alignment. Good news, and good work is hard to keep secret. Darren must be "The Man".

What does Darren charge?
