Review itself is OK, although it is interesting to hear that he wasn't impressed with launch control. However, what really captured my attention is how incredible the Valencia Red looks in the sunlight. It seemed hard to justify spending $6k (or worse, $7300 for us Canucks) on paint, but after having seen this video, it really does seem worth it.

The Autoguide reviewer says the new NSX weighs 600 lbs more than the R8. Totally wrong! Motor Trend weighed a 2017 R8 V10 Plus and it was a hefty 3653 lbs. Thus the NSX is only 147 lbs heaver. Not a huge difference.

How does Audi manage to get away with quoting misleading "dry weight" in their press releases while Honda is always quoting the more meaningful "curb weight".

Once the mantra of "the new NSX is really heavy" stuck everyone started going out of their way to confirm this belief. That's why the Autoguide reviewer incorrectly states there's a 600 lb difference. While he likely has no malice towards the new NSX, popular opinion has affected his judgement. This allows him to confuse dry weight with curb weight. He doesn't notice his mistake since the outcome fits the popular narrative about the NSX.

Thanks for confirming that - I was wondering that same thing when he said it!

That was a good review. He noted the steering feel natural, contrary to other reports.

All of the Euro specs quote dry weight. A 488 does not weigh 3200 lbs either...

"Greatest Supercar out of Japan" and he was sold on $150K based on looks alone. There you have it...

Car & Driver's October 2015 review said the NSX steering feedback is comparable to a 911.

I'll have to feel it for myself one day when I'm lucky enough to drive one. Feedback and feel is subjective to user preference IMO.
